Color Block Rush

Color Block Rush is a fast 4x4 block-fitting puzzle. Pick one of the three blocks under the board, drop it on the grid, and fill all 16 squares before the timer runs out. Clear a board and a fresh one appears - how many can you finish?

How to play

• Choose a block from the three below the board, then place it on the 4x4 grid.
• Fill all 16 squares to clear the board and start the next one.
• Mouse: click a block, then click a square.
• Keyboard: arrow keys to pick a block or move the dotted guide, Space to place, Esc to quit.

Scoring

• Clear a board: 100 points - or 200 if you do it within 15 seconds
• Four matching colors in a row or column: +30
• Four matching colors on a diagonal: +50

Special blocks and skills

• Gold block - matches any color and adds a +50 bonus to the line
• Ice block - shows up with 10 seconds left and freezes the clock for 5 seconds
• Rainbow - a 4-square block that clears whatever is underneath
• Black obstacle - appears on Advanced and sticks around until you blast it
• Every two cleared boards earns one skill use: Bomb, Rainbow, or +20 seconds

Levels

• Beginner - 3:00. The 1-square block keeps moving to a different slot.
• Normal - 3:00, standard rules.
• Advanced - 2:15. Rotate and Change All each cost 5 seconds, and black blocks appear every two boards.

Rankings

Your best scores are saved on your own device, and you can post a nickname to the shared "Everyone" leaderboard shown on the home screen. Please use a nickname rather than your real name.

Language

The game runs in English by default. Press the button in the top right to switch to Japanese.

About this project

This game was made by a 9-year-old as a summer holiday research project about AI. The theme was "how does AI actually work?", and the answer they chose was to build something real with it - sketching the design on paper, working out the rules and the scoring, then using AI tools to write and test the code. Every rule in this game was decided by the kid; the AI was the helper, not the designer.
